The Seville Aquarium is a must for families traveling to Sevilla, the capital of Andalusia, especially with their children.
Its facilities, located between María Luisa’s Park and the Guadalquivir River, have more than 3,000 cubic meters of water, including a 9-meter deep shark tank, and more than 7,000 specimens of about 400 different marine species.
The itinerary of the visit is inspired by the expedition of Magellan and Elcano, both protagonists of the first circumnavigation of the Earth that left Seville in 1519. Visitors will visit thematic spaces with species from the Guadalquivir, the Atlantic Ocean, the Amazon, the Pacific Ocean and finally the Indian Ocean.
In addition to the impressive shark tank, the deepest one in the Iberian Peninsula, we must highlight the thematic space of the mangrove and its exhibition of jellyfish.
The Aquarium of Seville participates in several programs for the conservation of marine fauna, in its own facilities or in the natural environment, collaborating with other organizations such as the Government of Andalucía, the Government of the Balearic Islands, the Biological Station of Doñana (CSIC), the CEGMA of Algeciras, the Azul Marino Foundation…
